Hello guys, I am back!!!!
Well, it’s more a month I didn’t
add some posts in this blog. How busy I am. Oh no, actually I am not really
busy, just being confused what topic that interesting to read, not only to
write. Remember this!
Just write everything across on
your mind. Don’t ever cut your imagination. It makes your creativities blocked.
And you are poor for this. I don’t wanna be longer stagnant. I wanna write
everything, anything and publish them in this blog. It couldn’t be interested
to read, but not to be too hasty to close it. Maybe, there’s something that you
get and save it on your mind as an inspiration, hehe. Well, in this post, I
would like to write about a miracle of my life in this weekend. It’s about
short journey to Baduy.
It’s such a miracle for me,
going to Baduy with some great people from Bakrie Amanah untuk Negeri,
sponsored by Bakrie Group. It’s actually used to I really wanted to join. Just
flashback, about six years ago I ignored to study in Bakrie School of Management.
I preferred to be a medical student because of some reasons. But now, I have a
chance to join them with my own profession, as a medical doctor. So, there’s
always miracles come far beyond the estimated.
Firstly, I got this information
from my best friend dr. Haris. He invited me to join this journey. Coincidentally,
in this weekend I did nothing, so it’s better if I joined it. And, this is my
passion. Well, I was really excited, too happy for finding it and spending two
days in new culture.
Let me tell you about Baduy and
how to reach Baduy area out. There are two ways to reach Baduy area out. They
are Ciboleger and Cijahe. If we try to make a journey start from Ciboleger, it’s
about 15 km to Baduy Dalam and passing the time more than four hours for us.
Baduy people just need one hour to reach Baduy Dalam out. Whereas Cijahe distance
to Baduy Dalam is about 3 km and passing the time one hour for us, 30 minutes
for Baduy people. Initially, we would like to make a journey from Ciboleger.
After a few moments of discussion, we
decided to Cijahe as a starting point. And, the exploration begins…..
The
track condition of this journey was really precipitous and curvaceous. We had
to be careful and it was not infrequently felt shortness of breath. We were
guided by Baduy people. Especially for me, I was guided by Syafri (Baduy Dalam
People, really a gracious Baduy). I asked some questions during the trip and he
answered my questions with pleasure. One thing that is always on my mind, he told
me that he often went to Jakarta by foot, without footgear and it took two days
to arrive in Jakarta. He was not afraid of lightning, rain and sun. He was just
afraid of spikes.
Oh
yea, Baduy tribe preserve their culture with very consistent like avoiding
chemical and technology product. So, to join them and living in their
environment, firstly we have to make a promise that we agree with their rules.
For examples, I didn’t take toothpaste to brush my teeth, take a bath without
body foam, and never take a picture in Baduy Dalam area.
I
was as the only one medical doctor there, so I did some medical examinations
and finding some cases. I and two nurses did home visit door to door, asked
them, “is there anyone sick here?”. Most of them couldn’t speak Indonesian, so
we tried to speak anything by gesture, lol. Some of them such as closing and
refused to be examined, but most of them received us with a warm and willing to
be examined. Another medical experience that I wanna tell you, it’s about Baduy tribe children. They have
long and dirty nails. We did bulk nails cut for some of them. This action was
continued to mass handwashing education. We gave education, how to wash hand by
“ Six Ways to Wash Our Hand”. We used to wash our hand with soap, right?!. They
were not familiar with soap and refused to use it. Finally, we took them down
to the river and practice Six Ways to Wash Hand in the river. First of all they
were confused and looked like afraid, but over time they could practice of
washing hand well with a big smile on their faces.
There
are still too much that I wanna tell you, but I think I have been unfair. It
will be more felt real, if you visit the Baduy directly. By this short story, I
hope we have the same thoughts that we are as Indonesian have so many cultures,
and Baduy is one of them that we have to preserve and respect. By this journey, we realize that, there’s
nothing more that we wanna reach in this temporary life, just finding our true
life. Let someday go there, we are not only get a mainstream holiday, but it’s
more than an amazing experience!
When I did a drainage of abcess, Mr. Andi Sahrandi also wanted to do drainage of Baduy's abcess (gregetan beliau mah, hehehe) |
She is Mba Riani, 12 weeks pregnant, so we had to hold her during the trip |
Juliarni (si Baduy) as our guide going back to Cijahe, Mba Eko (our nurse), and Me |
Mba Ria, Mba Eko, Asep, Me, Mba Riani, and Mba Ida |
We took a picture in Lumbung Padi of Luar Baduy tribe |
Syafri standed in right side of me after Juliarni. Ladies group went to back passed Cijahe track, and gentleman passed Ciboleger track. |
Last moment, we took a lunch together in Cijahe with some Baduy tribe children. |
And this was still in Ciboleger area, so I (wear 'Jelajah Nusantara' Oranye Shirt) still could take a selfie picture with one of Baduy tribe, hehe |

Arrival in Jakarta, suddenly I want to go back
again to the Baduy to change the bandage of Asmin’s foot injury….hahahahaaa…
Heeiii, i went there too right a month ago, accompanied by yogi and heru and also some others friends. I haven't got a chance to write it down on my blog, but sure the journey was great, felt surreal.
BalasHapusJust write your experience there down on your blog, mba Nesia.. it can stimulate others to go there. And, alhamdulillah..I have second chance to go there in the end of this September, to follow up some patients there.
